Have you ever eaten a Kadamba Bowl? Munching on a delicious mix of sweet potato, broccolino and beetroot quinoa? How about a burger called Aloo and Beetroot Tikki? I bet you have not as the Kadamba Kafe has just opened its doors to the NYC public. So, are you strolling through the upbeat streets of Brooklyn, New York and feeling a bit peckish? Then take a short detour to the Kadamba Kafe and have your lunch served by the enthusiastic restaurant team!

So what will be on the menu today? There is a large variety of items to choose from. How about Crispy Polenta chips? Or Tapioca Peanut Fritters? Or are you in the mood for a big plate of yummies? Then make your way to Spring Vegetable Tagliatelle pasta. Its already sounds mouth watering to be honest…
And to top it all off all items on the menu are strictly vegetarian (no fish, meat or eggs and also no onion and garlic). And they also have many items that can be turned into a vegan options 🙂

So what or who is Kadamba?
Kadamba is a sanskrit word that refers to the round yellow flowers of the Kadamba tree. It is also the name of the late Kadamba Kanana Swami. He was a spiritual teacher and guru that played a pivotal role in the initial conception, the setup and funding for the transformation of ISKCON NYC, including the Kadamba Kafe. And to honour Kadamba Kanana swami and his efforts the Kafe was lovingly named “Kadamba Kafe”. Read more about Kadamba Kanana Swami.

The Kadamba Kafe is part of transformation of the Radha Govinda Hare Krishna temple in New York. The Transform campaign is the first phase of renovating and developing the Radha Govinda temple to better serve Srila Prabhupada’s mission in NYC, expanding both outreach and service to our devotional community. ISKCON NYC first relocated to 305 Schermerhorn St., Brooklyn in 1982. At that time extensive work was done by the devotees to make it suitable for Sri Sri Radha Govinda, the residents of the Ashram, and our growing community throughout the New York area. From 2017 and onwards, Kadamba Kanana Swami played a particularly instrumental role in leading these efforts and we are committed to continuing the work he inspired. Read more…
