The Peacock Tree NPC has released its July 2026 impact report, titled "Seeds Planted in Five Directions," which highlights a month of steady growth and mission-driven outreach across South Africa. Inspired by the vision of His Holiness Kadamba Kanana Swami and supported by the long-standing encouragement of ISKCON Soweto, the mission focuses on carrying Srila Prabhupada's books, prasadam, and the holy names into diverse communities. The report emphasizes a "relationship-first" strategy, prioritizing the building of trust and friendship as the foundation for spiritual outreach.
The mission’s five core projects showed significant momentum this month. In rural outreach, the Hammanskraal and Klerksdorp initiatives distributed over 4,000 plates of prasadam, with Klerksdorp seeing increased participation from the local African community in its weekly Bhagavad-gita classes. Campus outreach through the Bhakti Yoga Society (BYS) and WuSA House reached hundreds of students, highlighted by a successful retreat for 120 attendees and the continued growth of the Vaishnavi Circle mentorship group. Simultaneously, the Book Bhakti project entered the final stages of its new Bhagavad-gita Handbook and launched a beta website to facilitate future sponsorship.

ISKCON Soweto's Chariot Festival returns on Saturday, 26 September 2026, and the team there has asked for help getting the word out and building support ahead of it. It is one of the most visible and joyful expressions of this mission each year, and it takes many hands to pull off well.
Financial support for these efforts was distributed across the five pillars, with BYS (24.6%), Klerksdorp (21.1%), and Book Bhakti (21.1%) receiving the largest shares of funding. Looking ahead, the mission is preparing for a community farming project in Hammanskraal and the upcoming Soweto Ratha Yatra on September 26, 2026. Every success recorded this month is attributed to the dedication of local volunteers and the generosity of donors who sustain these essential programs.
