Balarama – The Big Brother

Balarama – The Big Brother

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 10 August 2014, Nove Sady, Czech Republic, Balarama Purnima Lecture) Simply put, the chanting of the Hare Krsna mahamantra is our main interest. In the Holy Name, there are 3 words – Hare, Krsna and Rama. In this, we can see that Hare is representing Srimati Radharani, Rama is representing Lord Balarama

Everything is resting on Balarama

Everything is resting on Balarama

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 12 November 2018, Talavana, India, Kartik Parikrama Lecture) Lord Balarama carries a plough, used to prepare the ground for planting. Balarama is actually the one who prepares the heart. Krsna is the instructor, the speaker of the Bhagavad-gita, and He plants transcendental knowledge within the heart. “Bala” means strength and Balarama is

Philosophy is our anchor

Philosophy is our anchor

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 30 November 2019, Brisbane, Australia, Sunday Feast Lecture) Just like children only want to eat sweets, we only want kirtan. But we must not forget about the philosophy in Krsna consciousness because without this philosophy, we have no anchor. Without philosophy, we are on the waves of the three modes of material

The mad elephant offence

The mad elephant offence

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 1 June 2020, Radhadesh, Belgium, Caitanya Caritamrta Lecture: Disrespecting Vaisnavas) If one commits an offence, one has the duty to denounce that immediately; to denounce the offender. In the Caitanya Caritāmṛta, we have the story of how Gopāla Cāpāla became envious of Srivasa Thakura, who is a great devotee, and tried to

We are not God!

We are not God!

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 18 June 2020, Radhadesh, Belgium, Caitanya Caritamrta Lecture: Mayavada Part 2) We are not at length going to study the Mayavada philosophy or the Buddhist philosophy because they are very extensive and academic philosophy. The Mayavada philosophy is basically appealing to the very root cause of the living entity being in the

Sky of Bhakti

Sky of Bhakti

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 27 June 2020, Radhadesh, Belgium, Caitanya Caritamrta Lecture) When we fly to greater heights in the sky of bhakti, we become free from darkness in ourselves. ākāśa — ananta, tāte yaiche pakṣi-gaṇayāra yata śakti, tata kare ārohaṇa (Caitanya Caritamrta Antya Lila 20.79)The sky is unlimited, but many birds fly higher and higher

HH Kadamba Kanana Swami Departs

Dear Devotees

On Thursday 9th March at 12.06pm, under the gaze of Śrī Giriraja, in the holy land of Śrī Vṛndāvana dhāma, in the loving company of his spiritual master and the vaisnavas, with a resounding kirtan party, His Holiness Kadamba Kanana Swami departed from this material realm.

"Intelligent persons who take shelter of beautiful Vrndavana's opulent vines melting with motherly love, and throw far away the idea that they are material, become supremely successful, both in this life and also after death." (Prabhodananda Saraswati, Vrindavana Mahimamrta)
