A look into the Kadamba Foundation, its goals and initiatives as set by Kadamba Kanana Swami
“I’ve created this foundation to preserve my media and to support African preaching programs in South Africa.
Kadamba Kanana Swami (1953 – 2023)
Do you want to engage in serving Kadamba Kanana Swami? The Kadamba Foundation, launched on 31st January 2023 is a non-profit organisation established by Kadamba Kanana Swami. The aim of the Foundation is to manage, promote and publish his media such as books and music to continue the legacy from HDG AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in spreading Krishna Consciousness all over the world. Any funds obtained from the sale of the media will be used to promote preaching projects in Africa under “The Peacock Tree” trust, which was also established by Kadamba Kanana Swami.
This foundation was started just sometime before Kadamba Kanana Swami passed away from this world. It was to ensure his efforts to spread Krishna Consciousness continues even after his passing away. His disciples and other devotees who spent a lot of time serving him in his last days, have been tasked with carrying on his legacy for the future of ISKCON. You can also help the devotees in many ways such as by giving donation, distributing the books and other media.
Till today, the foundation has published 22 music albums, 10 books and various audio and video recordings which you can access from online platforms such as Spotify, Apple music and the YouTube channel. His books, based on many topics such as faith, and guru-disciple relationship are available to download for free from his website. Kadamba Kanana Swami’s books are also being translated into many foreign languages by getting help from other people in distributing them worldwide.
There’s also a vast collection of articles, photos, quotes and transcripts available on the www.kksblog.com/ website. In this way, Maharaj still lives in his words of wisdom.
The Goals of The Kadamba Foundation
- Manufacture, marketing and dispersion of the books, magazines, music and other Krishna Consciousness related media.
- Publication and management of the exclusive and non-exclusive licenses for translations, production, sale and distribution of all media.
- Managing the existing copyrights of both previous and new published works under the names “Sabda” and “Sabda publishing”.
- Conduct preaching activities in South Africa that resonate with the teachings of HDG AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896 – 1977).
- Financially supporting the preaching activities in South Africa under “The Peacock Tree” trust.
- Any other ways in which spiritual knowledge can be spread through the foundation.
As with any other type of management of different forms of media, the Kadamba Foundation reserves the right to issue licenses for translation of the books into several international languages. The foundation publishes and promotes the books and music on various digital platforms such as Amazon, Spotify and Apple which are freely accessible to the public.
The Foundation manages the copyright of Kadamba Kanana Swami’s projects and also collects royalties for licensed use of new media and other projects. Any monetary gain will be used for investing in future projects to push forward the Krishna Consciousness movement especially in South Africa.
Please join the efforts of Kadamba Kanana Swami’s disciples and other devotees to help spread the Krishna Consciousness movement. Let us work together to achive this as much as possible. Just like HDG AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada had written in a letter to Ranadhira in 1972
“So please be engaged fully in reading and chanting and try to impart Krishna Consciousness to whomever you meet.”
