1990s Srimad Bhagavatam 1.18.8
Careless, Intelligent
Carelessness means we are inattentive. When we are inattentive while chanting, all other ten offenses will arise. Our goal is to be highly inspired and to serve the Holy Name. We gain intelligence from chanting. True intelligence means doing everything with care, accepting what we have, and using it for the service of Krishna. Intelligence is not about trying to be someone you are not; that is unintelligent.

Connections
Our vision is being covered by the three modes of material nature, so we cannot see the Lord. The pure devotees of the Lord are carrying the message, the mercy and the power of the Lord. And this power is the only power that will deliver us from this world. Therefore, it is important to connect to our spiritual master, the Guru, as he has the connection to Krishna.

1990s Caitanya Caritamrita Madhya 4.127
Are we Krishna conscious all the time?
Sometimes! Not so much, so we need to make internal adjustments all the time. As we gradually progress, we learn more about the various aspects, such as how to eat in a Vedic way. As we learn more and more, we can become deeply entrenched in the culture of Krishna consciousness, and our minds and hearts will be purified.
